Michael and Evonne Bird both teach Health and Exercise Sciences at Truman State University.  Together, they serve as faculty advisors for Newman Council by providing support, advice and help for Bettie and the students whenever they are needed.  They have three children, Koby, Keegan, and Kelsey.

Evonne is originally from Montana and received her Master's degree from Texas Tech University.  She enjoys playing basketball, exercising, cross-stitching, and playing with her kids.

Michael grew up in Maryland before pursuing his undergraduate and Master's work at Purdue University.  He received his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Dr. Bird likes exercising, mountain biking, weight lifting, coaching and playing soccer, and woodworking.
